The Arc of Gaston County is a local non-profit that serves children and adults with Developmental Disabilities. It was established in 1961 by parents, community members, and medical professionals who sought a better life for their children. The Arc of Gaston County works to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Sara Osborne is director and will be at City Church with specific request for disabled adults.  Last year City Church filled every request, let’s do it again.

When you think of law enforcement, the idea that often comes to mind is the police officers. That’s not surprising, because our role in the criminal justice system is to act as the face of the system and to investigate crimes. But, while police officers play a critical role in the criminal justice system for this role in law enforcement, that is not the only role we play in the community. We also take part in community events and volunteer our time to help families in need. One of the methods used by police to assist with community relations and to help out in the community is through Shop with a Cop programs. Ornaments will be available in the lobby to help fund this great outreach.

Who doesn’t like Hot Chocolate in the winter? This weekend we will warm the hearts and the tummies of all in attendance with a warm cup of hot chocolate and all the fun things to add. Word is there might even be special Christmas cookies.

Everyone loves to open a Christmas card. We will provide special Christmas cards so you can invite family and friends to our Christmas services and special events, like Christmas Eve, and all of our special weekend fun Sunday’s. Take as many as you want, invite your family, friends and neighbors. Most people would come to church if they were just invited.

Ugly Christmas sweaters are the least endearing name that arguably became the most loved part of the holiday season.  This is your chance to sport your ugly sweater!!!  Maybe it is not as ugly, as it is funny, or maybe you could make your own.  Let’s have fun showing off the “City Church” sense of humor.

There is no better way to celebrate Christmas Eve than gathering your family and friends at City Church.  Explore twinkling lights, inspiring Christmas music, and a teaching to remind us again of the great Hope of Christmas, the birth of Jesus.  Bring your whole crew and enjoy this special family service.

On this Sunday City Church has a very special gift for you!!!  This is a chance for us to say thank you for your support and love over the year.  The church is God’s gift to the world and you are a gift to this church.  We are better together!!!!
