IT’S ONLY A TEST

Then the Lord told him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt.  I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers.  Yes, I am aware of their suffering.  So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land.  It is a land flowing with milk and honey – the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live.  Look!  The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them.  Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh.  You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.”  ~Exodus 3:7-10

“When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land.  God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.”  So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea.”  ~Exodus 13:17-18

The crisis that we all face is this:

Will we follow God when we don’t understand God?

Four Life lessons when we are going through our Tests:

1. Our tests are where we learn patience.

2. Our tests are where God makes us strong.

“When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land.  God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.””  ~Exodus 13:17

Why does God lead us into tests?

It is where God gets us ready for our destiny.

3. Our tests are where we get honest with ourselves.

4. Our tests are where we learn to trust God.

We know you’re busy and Sunday mornings are precious (most of the time.) We are really excited to invite you as a parent to come and have breakfast with us on Sunday morning before the first service at City Church. YES you can bring the family OR you can leave them to fend for themselves and come yourself :). NOTE: If you can’t make it at 8:30a or have to leave before 9:15… that’s OK… we just want to meet you and get to know you!

One Sunday, November 8th, we want you to be able to spend a few minutes with your student’s LifeGroup leader. Having allies as you are raising teenagers can be an incredibly valuable thing. Allies that are pointing your child toward Jesus is priceless. Our leaders want to know you and want to be able to pray for you and encourage you.

What to expect? We’ll have a table specifically for your the guys and the girls in each grade from 6th-12th. Simply find that table!

Please consider being a part of the 2020 Parent/Life Group Leader Breakfast! We do ask that you RSVP so our kitchen team can be prepared.
